On the Black Widow Music, LLC label, the new digital single “Codex Alimentarius” debuts as an exclusive preview on YouTube.

EDM producer/DJ/songwriter, Alzie Ramsey, is set to release a preview of his new digital single today October 17th on YouTube prior to releasing to retail partners November 12, 2012. The title of the new track is “Codex Alimentarius”. “This latest work by Alzie features sonic elements of deep house and chill out,” said Erick Shipmon, Director of Marketing at Black Widow Music, LLC. “Codex Alimentarius displays what comprises EDM and displays an aspect of how wide and diverse the EDM genre actually is.

Ramsey states that “Although EDM is exploding right now it still isn’t getting the exposure it truly deserves. There’s quite a bit more to it and if you actually knew how many sub-genres make up electronic dance music it literally will blow your mind. With each release I just try to do something new and expose listeners to elements they’ve never experienced.”

Black Widow Music, LLC (a digital label and music licensing company) was created in 2004. The result after many hours of labor and hard work is a business organization that stays on the forefront of industry technology and practices, but remains true to the “music” and avoids the traps of commercialism. Featuring the best in EDM, jazz and various genres of instrumentals our catalog is broad and diverse, but prevails on the primary focal point of why the label was created in the first place.

EDM record label CEO speaks out on the recent electronic dance music gold rush.

Alzie Ramsey of EDM record label Black Widow Music, LLC has recently decided to voice his opinion on the recent gold rush occurring within the music industry. Ramsey personally believes that this is one of the first official outcries against this debauchery.

“EDM has been around and thriving since the 70s and all of a sudden there’s this enormous explosion of the genre,” states Ramsey. “What artists need to do is take a closer look at what is actually happening before it’s too late. Selling out to the corporate world and commercialism is a disgrace and the hand that is feeding you will eventually destroy you.”

Anyone who has been following this genre (even remotely) knows that events such as Ultra Music Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival attract fans literally by the hundreds of thousands in number. Consequently, the financial returns are millions of dollars and hungry corporations are vying to take it all. The latest trends in EDM have been Avicii playing for Madonna and Ralph Lauren, Swedish House Mafia and Absolut Vodka, Swedish House Mafia and Usher, Ne-Yo and Calvin Harris, Rihanna and Calvin Harris and the list goes on. Can Madonna, Usher, Ne-Yo or Rihanna attract millions of people on their own merit? In no way possible do they even come close and many venues they perform at barely draw a decent crowd and are half empty. So the easy fix for these artists and the corporate giants funding them would be to feed off the current boom of electronic dance music.

“As I’ve stated previously, the corporate giant is taking EDM to the ATM. Historical proof demonstrates that with a gold rush comes scams, sickness, death and murder,” says Ramsey. “The corporate world (and this includes the “major” record label) has ravaged just about every genre there is spanning from classical to rap and they’ve found another new playground to be a bully on and destroy.”

The motivating factor behind this press release is simple – nothing technical, pure honesty and perceiving the state of the genre realistically. These corporations are not interested in the well-being of electronic dance music or the musicians involved. They have two primary concerns – themselves and their wallets.
